I am about to go up in flames right now, so I'll keep this brief.
I was abused as a child. I reported it to a teacher in the 1990s, who referred me to the principal, in whose office I sat for almost an hour bawling my eyes out as she sat there emotionless and even a bit annoyed towards the end. She said she'd call CPS and/or DSS. She later said they'd be out to the school within the week to interview me. They never came. I went back to her office the following week, and according to her they had said they didn't deem it serious enough.
This year I call CPS in my county to request my records and see why it went uninvestigated when the CPS rep I spoke to on the phone said what I went through would have warranted an investigation. He also said private schools sometimes swept complaints under the rug to protect its sources of revenue (i.e. the abusing parent). There were a bunch of fuck ups, like not receiving my ID, etc etc, that prevented the records from reaching me before today.
I got the papers after coming home from work tonight: there's no record of my complaint.
There's a record of a later report, but not this one. It looks like my principal fucked me over.
Would anyone here know of what recourse I have. It doesn't look like state attorney general could help, and I'm not even sure any of the DSS complaint avenues would. I'm really at a loss, and any pointing fingers towards resources would be helpful.
