Diet baby formula? What does it say about our society that there could be a market for diet baby food? Ostensibly this stuff is supposed to guarantee that the kids never have to worry about obesity, but you couldn't pay me to feed this to a kid. What do you think?

I should go into marketing.
Diet baby food: 'cause if you starve them outright, they cry and stuff.

Re: Once again...
Basically. I took my son to his 9 month check up, this woman was struggling to carry her 30lb 5 month old... damn....

If people would stop shoving a bottles and food in babies/children' mouths for every whimper and whine MAYBE you wouldn't have to worry bout that.

The food isn't for the baby its for the OCD mothers, (most likely white) who will brag that they are feeding their child diet baby food. Why the word diet? If it's low in sugar or organic, then say that. Oh that's right! There are far more body and image obsessed people than ones who actually give a damn about good health. My bad.

It's diet because it's got some type of hormone that's supposed to alter the brain and make babies want to eat less for the rest of their lives, so they'll never be fat.

Well hopefully it's better than what I've seen, people feeding their one year old's Dunkin' Donuts. Ugh.

Preventing diabetes? Always a winner.

Artificially manufacturing a skinny society? Not so much.

It's not 'diet' baby food. It's baby food with a supplement. The supplement might be questionable, but I'm pretty sure the food has the full amount of nutrition.

I am a little suspect of making a generation of people who don't use energy efficiently. What if we go into another ice age (actually slightly possible) and people need to keep their fat? But I'm not sure its wrong on principle.

I think it's a good idea. I actually read the article, and would have no problem preparing my child for life with this type of formula. If it's nutritionally sound, why not? Am i missing something?

There's no way of knowing what the long term impact of this chemiocal could be on their bodies.
